How to Disinfect and Sanitize a Toothbrush (Manual or Electric)

Just got over a cold or the flu?  You should really change or clean your toothbrush.  Usually, I just run mine through the dishwasher using a bleach based detergent.  However, that doesn't work for our electric toothbrushes.  Here is how I take care of it:

Needed:
Your toothbrush
Antiseptic mouth wash (I use Listerine - the "original" medicated one).
A small cup that will cover the brush heads.

Directions:
Fill your cup with Listerine.
Let the toothbrush head soak in it for several minutes.
Move the head of the brush around in the Listerine to loosen any debris.
Rinse off the brush in running water.  Store the brush in a place it can dry completely.

While doing this, I also clean the handle of the brush by wiping it down with a Lysol wipe.
